What is Hemp?
Hemp is the industrial name we give to Cannabis Sativa varieties that contains less than 0.3% THC, guaranteeing you won’t get high if you consume them. Hemp has been cultivated for thousands of years, most notably for ropes for naval vessels and for paper. The different parts of the plant have different uses – for example we use the seeds, however hemp is capable of producing hundreds of crucial resources including clothing, building materials, biofuel and more.
What is the difference between Hemp, CBD and Marijuana?
While hemp, Marijuana or Cannabis are one and the same species, they are quite different in character when bred for food and fibre, versus medical or recreational consumption. The major difference between them comes down to a chemical called Tetrahydrocannabinol - shortened to THC. Marijuana contains a high percentage of THC and it’s the THC that causes the ‘high'.
